Great opportunity for amateurs to play with some of the Legends of professional golf

The Vuksich & Borich Fiji Legends Golf Classic will be played, 20th to 22nd of September 2017

 

This international pro-am tournament will be played on two of the best golf courses in the South Pacific.
The fabulous VJ Singh inspired Natadola Bay course and the excellent resort course on Denerau Island.
Competitors will stay at the five star Sheraton Fiji Resort on Denarau Island for four nights.
The pro-am tournament will be played over three competition rounds, one round at Natadola Bay and two rounds at the Denarau Golf & Racquet Club.

This is a fantastic opportunity for up to 60 amateur golfers to take part in this tournament and play with some of great names of professional golf.  The “Legends” senior professional golf circuit in Australasia has grown in leaps and bounds over the past five years and now has over 60 events scheduled for 2017.

The Australasian Legends tour sees the household names of golf taking part regularly. Players who have won numerous tournaments globally including Former British Open winners Ian Baker Finch and Sir Bob Charles, USPGA Champion Wayne Grady, Australian, New Zealand Open & PGA Champions, Rodger Davis, Simon Owen, Peter Fowler, Mike Harwood and Peter Senior and Peter O’Malley.

We look forward to a number of these leading international players competing in the Fiji event.
​The professionals will be playing for $AU50,000 in prize money and there will be great amateur prizes.

 

The Hotel

Denarau Island is only 20 minutes’ drive from Nadi International Airport and is the resort capital of Fiji. There are 8 international hotels, championship golf course and Port Denarau Marine Village with numerous restaurants, bars and shops.

Accommodation for the tournament will be at the five star Sheraton Fiji Resort. This luxury beach front hotel is only 150 meters from the Denarau Golf Course.

 

The Golf Courses
Natadola Bay Golf Course

Is 40 minutes’ drive from Denarau Island towards the Coral Coast, this fantastic VJ Singh inspired championship course has just under gone a $4 million upgrade. You will see the new layout on TV during the Fiji International in August, it’s the real deal and without doubt the best course in the South Pacific.

The Denarau Golf & Racquet Club

Is on the door step of the Sheraton Fiji Resort.

 

The Competition

The tournament will be played over 3 rounds. (54 holes)One round at Natadola Bay Golf Course and two rounds at Denarau Golf & Racquet Club.

Groups for the first two rounds will be made up of one professional and three amateurs.

The final round will be a seeded draw on individuals’ scores with the leading two professionals and leading two amateurs drawn together and so forth through the field.

There will be various competitions included in the event; the major amateur prizes will be awarded for the overall individual competition.

There will be a special section for overall best senior (over 50 years) amateur gross winner (handicaps 9 and under)

There will be a special team’s best ball competition played over the first two rounds.  

The challenging but friendly resort layout has hosted many international tournaments; water comes into play on many holes and is a good test for players of all calibers.

Professionals:     54 hole gross AUD$50,000 prize money

Amateurs:

54 hole Stableford for all players
54-hole gross for handicaps 9 and under
Daily prizes
Teams best ball with the professional on rounds one and two
Gross for Senior amateurs (50 years and over)

 

Who Can Play
  • The tournament is open to senior PGA golf professionals
  • Amateur golfers of any age with official golf club handicap of 27 or less
 
The Grand Finale

Will be held at “Cardo’s Restaurant” Port Denarau

The final night prize presentation dinner will be a night to remember, apart from the major prizes being handed out, everyone will enjoy great food, beverage and entertainment.

Prices based on the following exchange rate $AUD =$F1.51 $NZ= $F1.41 cost may change with more than 1.5% swing in exchange rates.

Wednesday 20th September - Round One V&B Fiji - Legends Golf Classic
  Play at Natadola Bay Golf Course 
6.30am to 8.30am  Breakfast
8:30am Coaches will depart the Sheraton Hotel Foyer for Natadola Bay Golf Course 
9:20am Arrive at the golf course where clubs will be set up on carts, range balls will be available for warm up prior to play
10:20am Shot Gun Start, food and drinks will be available during play
3:20pm Finish golf, drinks are available in the club house (players own cost) 
4:00pm Coaches will depart for the Sheraton
6.30pm to 7.30pm  Happy Hour at Cardo’s
Thursday 21st September - Round Two V&B Fiji - Legends Golf Classic
  Play at Denarau Golf Course 
6.30am to 8.00am Breakfast
8:00am Check in at the Starters Bure.
9:00am Shot Gun Start, food and drinks available during play
2:00pm Finish golf, drinks available at the club house (players own cost)
6.00pm to 7.00pm  Happy Hour at Cardo’s 
Friday 22nd September - Round Three V&B Fiji- Legends Golf Classic
6:30am to 8:00am Breakfast
8.30am Seeded draw with the leading players teeing off the 1st tee Food and drinks will be available during the round In the event of a tie in the professional section there will be a sudden death play-off.
6.30pm  Final night prize presentation dinner and entertainment at Cardo’s Restaurant.
Saturday 23rd - Depart the Sheraton Fiji Resort 
6.30am to 9.30am Breakfast
