The Fiji pro-am golf tour has been running for over 35 years, some of the great names of professional golf started their careers playing in Fiji including Greg Norman and VJ Singh over the past 6 years New Zealand’s Mike Hendry and Ryan Fox and Australia’s Steven Jeffress have featured very strongly. This is a great opportunity for amateur golfers to play with some leading professionals in a very relaxed atmosphere. There are 5 events confirmed for 2015 with a minimum $F180,000 in professional prize money . There are some excellent prizes on offer for the amateurs particularly at the Starwood Golf Classic. It is expected that the Starwood Golf Classic will be fully subscribed early so if you are considering traveling to Fiji for the 2015 events enter early.                                        

 

Event Information


The Air New Zealand  Pro-Am

is now in its 19th year, this very popular fun pro-am event is played over three days. One day at the fantastic Natadola Bay course and the two rounds of the pro-am at the Sheraton Fiji Resorts course on Denarau Island.  Denarau Island is the premier resort area of Fiji, only 20 minutes drive from Nadi International Airport, there are 8 international hotels, golf, tennis and marine village with many bars restaurant and shops. Shangri-La Fijian Resort Hotel Pro-Am

is played on the Peter Thompson designed executive course at the Hotel, The Shangri- La is one of the best resorts in Fiji, set on a 100 acre Island only 15 minutes drive from Natadola Bay or an hour from Nadi airport. Fiji’s biggest hotel, every room overlooks the lagoon or ocean, great beach, 5 restaurants and bars, Spa, all water sports, tennis and 9 hole executive golf course.

 

The Fiji Open

will be played at the Fiji Golf Club in Fiji’s capital of Suva . The event is played over 72 holes and in the past the winner has received an invitation to play in the Fiji International  which is part of the One Asia Tour.

 

Natadola Bay Pro-Am

is played on the fantastic VJ Singh inspired layout, a great test of golf and by far the best championship golf course in the South Pacific Islands. The course is around 45 minutes drive from Denarau Island. The pro-am will be played in carts.

 

The Starwood Golf Classic

is Fiji’s biggest pro-am golf tournament with $100,000 in professional prize money and $30,000 in amateur prizes. This competition will be played over 72 holes, two rounds at Natadola Bay and two rounds at Denarau Golf & Racquet club. The tournament is a teams and individual competition. Each group (team) will comprise of one professional and three amateurs and they will play together for the four rounds. There is $30,000 prize money in the team’s event plus the winning team members in the gross and net team’s competitions will win free entry to the 2016 tournament including accommodation and the full event package. The individual amateur winners in the gross and net competition will also win a free entry package to the 2016 event.

We are encouraging professionals from NZ and Australia to organise a team of 3 amateur friends or club members, however for those who can’t find a team we will make teams up from the individual entries.

As a condition of entry to the Starwood Classic all players must buy the event entry package which includes accommodation (It is a really good package and excellent price.)
