Hawai‘i Pro -Teams Invitational
World Class Golf Courses
You do not have to be a great player to join in the fun & competition

The inaugural Hawai‘i Pro Teams Invitational is a tournament everyone can enjoy regardless of their golfing ability. The event begins with a practice round followed by three tournament rounds with a PGA Professional. Mauna Kea Resort is one of Hawai‘i’s finest golf destinations with two world class golf courses, Mauna Kea and Hapuna golf courses. During the tournament you will play one round at the Hapuna Beach Golf Course and two rounds at Mauna Kea Golf Course with your Group (Team) of one PGA Professional and three Amateur players.
The event is limited to the first 25 Teams registered and is subject to a minimum of 20 teams taking part.
The Island of Hawai‘i is renowned for its world class beach front accommodation, an abundance of once in a lifetime outdoor experiences and the finest resort golf courses. Whether you are looking for relaxation, shopping or adventure, this golf event caters for all interests and will not fail to exceed your expectations. Only a 30-minute flight from Honolulu and a short drive up the Kohala Coast from the Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keāhole KOA) on the island of Hawai‘i, the event at Mauna Kea Resort will enable you to enjoy many experiences and the perfect trip to one of the most exquisite golfing destinations in the world.
There are seven world class golf courses within a 15-minute drive from The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort, located within the 1,800 acres at Mauna Kea Resort. During this tournament you will play two of these world class golf courses. If you would like to arrive early or stay after the event to experience other courses in the area, we would be pleased to help and advise the best courses to play.
The Arnold Palmer / Ed Seay design is one of the most interesting courses you will play. This links style design has the first nine climbing from sea level to 700 feet and an amazing layout with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean from almost every hole. Hapuna Beach Golf Course nestles amongst the rugged desert terrain above the west shore of Hawaii Island. At 6895 yards from the Championship tees, this course will be a challenge to Pro’s and Amateurs alike.
With Seashore Paspalum greens and Tifway 419 hybrid Bermuda on the Tees, Fairways and Rough this golf course presents well all year round.

The Robert Trent Jones Sr design that set the benchmark for golf in Hawaii and with modern improvements by his son Rees Jones means the Mauna Kea course is still considered by many to be one of the best courses on the Island. World renowned ocean front holes with unparalleled views, magnificent bunkering, undulating fairways and finely manicured ultra-dwarf Tif eagle Bermuda greens, Mauna Kea is a true masterpiece.

The Professionals will be playing 54 holes Stroke play for $40,000 USD Prizemoney. The main Pro-Am competition for the Amateurs will be one of two teams events.
The Professionals score can be used in the teams competition.
There will also be individual daily and overall prizes for Amateurs.
A Calcutta will be held on the final round scores for the Teams Stableford event. The leading six teams plus two Swingers will be auctioned at the drinks function after the second round.
There will be post round drinks each evening at The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort where you will be able to see all the scores on the Tournament Score Board. All social functions are included in the tournament package.

Accommodation for the five nights of this event will be at a newly renovated resort hotel located on the oceanfront shores of the Pacific Ocean, The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort. Situated on 32 oceanfront acres, this is a beautiful hotel which has recently undergone a $50 Million renovation to all rooms, restaurants, pools, wellness centre and shopping.
The hotel is nestled in natural bluffs overlooking the silky white sands of Hapuna Beach. In ancient times on the resort site, freshwater springs bubbled to the surface during heavy rainfall. These artesian fountains provided respite and renewal for travelers along the Kohala Coast, hence, the area is named Hāpuna or “spring” (“Spring of life”) in the Hawaiian language. Each of the great golf courses you will play during the tournament are located within Mauna Kea Resort. Your accommodation has been reserved in ocean view rooms and daily breakfast is included.

After four rounds of golf, you may be ready for a few days R & R before your homeward journey and there are several excellent options. You may just like to spend a few extra days at the Westin Hapuna Beach Hotel where we have secured special room rates for three days prior to or three days after the event. Alternatively, you could take a short flight to O‘ahu and spend some time in Waikīkī. We recommend the Prince Waikīkī Hotel, where every room has an ocean view and you are short walk from great shopping at Ala Moana Shopping centre and many fantastic restaurants. There is also always another opportunity for more golf at The Hawai‘i Prince Golf Course if you wish.

In most cases Legends PGA Professionals will be organising their team of three Amateurs. However, there will be a number of teams looking for extra players. If you are not part of an organised team, please let us know and we can do our best to find you a spot in the event.
Simply complete the booking form and email to richard@pacificgolf.co.nz and we will take care of the rest.
